Ukumbe Safari Lodge
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is a highly popular safari lodge with a fantastic location in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s most exclusive safari destinations in the Greater Kruger area.
The reserve shares an open border with Kruger National Park, which means that animals move freely and the chances of seeing plenty of wildlife are often very good.
The lodge offers comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and private patios, and some chalets even have connecting doors, making them ideal for families or small groups. On hot days, you can relax by the pool overlooking the Sand River and the open bush landscape.
In the evenings, dinner is often served in a traditional boma around the fire, one of the most atmospheric experiences in the bush.
Umkumbe is also situated in a location where you can often spot wildlife directly from the lodge’s common areas and terraces. Elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and baboons are common visitors.
