nThambo Camp
nThambo Tree Camp is a small and intimate safari camp located in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, a private reserve that shares open, unguarded borders with Kruger Park.
The camp consists of just a few solar-powered wooden chalets, built on stilts with canvas walls and thatched roofs, giving you a wonderful "bush feeling" while still providing comfortable accommodation. Each chalet has a private wooden balcony overlooking the surrounding nature. The lodge area has a small splash pool, perfect for cooling off on hot days.
For those who want to experience the safari a little closer to nature, there is also the option of booking a walking safari after breakfast. Meals are homemade and charmingly simple, and on some evenings there is a classic braai in the boma under the starry sky.
This is an open camp, which makes the experience extra exciting – and sometimes you may even be lucky enough to see elephants passing by and drinking water near the camp. The animals roam freely in the area, giving you a genuine safari experience in the wilderness, far from large lodges and crowds.
