nThambo Camp
nThambo Tree Camp is a small and intimate safari camp located in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, a private reserve that shares open, unguarded borders with Kruger Park.
The camp consists of just a few solar-powered wooden chalets, built on stilts with canvas walls and thatched roofs that create a wonderful “bush vibe” while ensuring a comfortable stay. Each chalet features a private wooden balcony overlooking the surrounding wilderness. Near the lodge area, there is a small wading pool, perfect for cooling off on hot days.
For those who want to experience the safari a little closer to nature, there’s also the option to book a walking safari after breakfast. The meals are homemade and charmingly simple, and on some evenings, a classic braai is served in the boma under the starry sky.
This is an open camp, which makes the experience extra exciting, and sometimes you might even be lucky enough to see elephants passing by and drinking water near the camp. The animals roam freely in the area, ensuring you get a genuine safari experience in the wilderness, far from large lodges and crowds.
