This safari tour is perfect for those who don't want to sit too long in a jeep but want to get a bit more active. Here you will have unique adventures and experience things off the beaten track. You'll start by heading out to a coffee plantation to see the process from a bean to a steaming cup of coffee. Then you'll take a short hike to a waterfall.
This package also includes a full day hike to the first base of the classic Mount Kilimanjaro. To all national parks there are a maximum of 2-3 hours by car. The national parks complement each other well and you have the chance to see "The big 5" during these days. Arusha National Park is relatively small in size and there are no felines here, but you will get to go canoeing on a lake with hippos.
In Tarangire, you'll start with a walking safari where you'll have the chance to see animals on foot on the savannah with an armed ranger. You will also try classic jeep safaris both in Tarangire and in the magical Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is classed as the eighth wonder of the world and you're sure to see plenty of wildlife there. You will then have the opportunity to visit a genuine Maasai village set in an incredibly beautiful environment.
As you have a private safari jeep, you can travel at your own pace and stop along the way if there is something you want to see.

We will pick you up at the airport in Arusha or Kilimanjaro. One of our representatives will stand with a sign with your name in the arrivals hall. You will then be transferred to your hotel where you will have time to recover after a long journey. Arusha is beautifully situated at the foot of Tanzania's second highest mountain, Mount Meru. Just a few kilometres away is Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro. The region is characterised by coffee and banana plantations. Arusha is high above sea level, which makes the climate very pleasant.
You will have breakfast at the hotel and then be picked up to go on a full day tour to a coffee plantation and a waterfall in the Moshi region. This is a very rewarding tour as you get an insight into local life as you pass many small villages on your way to the plantation. You will have a private guide with you and see what the coffee plantations look like and also get to be involved in the whole process from a bean to a steaming cup of coffee. There will also be an opportunity to try grinding beans yourself in the traditional way. Lunch will be served and then you will make a short trek to a beautiful waterfall.
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up and you'll head to the foot of Kilimanjaro for a day tour of the mighty 5895-metre mountain. This is the world's highest free-standing mountain and due to its location on the equator, virtually all climate zones are represented on the mountain including a snow-capped peak all year round. You will have a private guide with you and go up to Marangu Gate which is 1,843 m above sea level and then walk, surrounded by rainforest, up to Mandara Hut at 2,700 meters. There you will have a well-deserved lunch and if you are lucky you can see the summit of Kilimanjaro from here. Then you start the journey back down. Depending on your pace, the trip takes about 8 hours.
After breakfast you will head to Arusha National Park, a few hours from Moshi. This is one of Tanzania's smallest national parks, which allows you to get relatively close to some of the animals. However, there are no elephants or felines in this park. During the safari, you will be able to canoe on a lake located in the middle of the park. There are hippos in the lake and from the canoe you can sometimes see giraffes and buffalo, among others, coming down to drink. Each canoe has an experienced guide so you can feel safe on the journey. After the safari, you will be transferred to your accommodation which is close to Tarangire National Park so that you can start your safari adventure early the next morning.
After breakfast you start your journey to Tarangire. Here you start with a walking safari of about 1,5 hours with an armed ranger. Walking on the savannah is an unique experience. Tarangire is a lush and hilly national park and the vegetation is incredibly diverse. In the park you can see many of the spectacular baobab trees. Tarangire is best known for its large elephant population, which you can often get very close to, but there are also a variety of other animals such as antelope, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and all the big cats. During the dry season, the Tarangire River attracts large numbers of animals. At dusk, you end your safari tour and return to your accommodation for some relaxation before dinner.
Early in the morning you start the journey down into the Ngorongoro Crater. The trip along the crater rim and then down to the crater itself is a mighty experience. Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest inactive volcano and there is a height difference of almost 600 metres from the crater rim down to the crater floor. The crater is called the Garden of Eden because there are between 25,000 - 30,000 wild animals in this area. At a nice picnic area, often full of hippos, the day's lunch is taken. This is one of Africa's most wildlife-rich areas, so you are sure to see many animals. If you're lucky, you may see the endangered black rhino. After an intense day in the crater, you begin the journey back to Arusha. On the way back, you may choose to stop for a short visit to a genuine Maasai village to get an insight into how they live.
You can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. If you choose to add our Zanzibar package, we will pick you up well before departure. If you have booked your own flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro, you decide when you want to be picked up for transport to the airport. If you would like a transfer on another day, this can be arranged.
